Newsletter Vol. 8

Dear Parents and Carers

I would like to recognise the whole Poseidon Staff for how magnificently they have supported each other since the passing of our School Officer Mrs Jo Why. The strength of their relationships has been of great comfort and has greatly assisted in the smooth operation of the school. Thank you also to the P&C for re-scheduling the movie night and the kind messages of condolence communicated to the school and Jo’s family.

Mrs Why’s funeral will be held at 3:30pm tomorrow Friday June 8 and I ask for the co-operation of parents and families to vacate the school premises by 3:00pm to enable staff to attend the funeral.

With the change in weather I have noticed two slight issues that require attention.

  1. Parents accessing the Staff Car Park. This is a safety issue as adults and children are walking through the Car Park. It also creates a difficulty before school as staff are often unable to find any empty parking bays. A very clear reminder that NO PARENTS are to park in the STAFF Car Park unless they need to park in the ACROD Bay.  Parents can only use the ACROD bay if they have been issued an official ACROD permit or an official Poseidon Primary School Permit to do so.  The school permit is issued at the front office.
  2. Students are wearing jumpers, jackets, multi-coloured leggings which are outside the current School Dress Code. There has also been a noticeable increase in the use of nail polish. Please ensure the high standard of school uniforms is maintained.

To help you assist in these two areas I have attached information on Parking at the school and the School Dress Code.

I look forward to this week’s assembly and the P&C movie night next Friday.
