Under the School Education Act 1999, it is a requirement for schools to outline to parents, all contributions and charges that will apply to the education of their children in the year ahead.
Parent and staff representatives of the School Board, in consultation with parent groups and other staff members have met to set a schedule of contributions and charges for 2024.
Each of these areas is explained in more detail in the following information.
Voluntary Contributions
Voluntary Contributions are non-compulsory, however, schools have always requested a contribution from parents to support the learning programs that operate within the school. They are used to supplement the resources received by the school through government grants to provide the non-optional components of your child’s education. Payment plan options available, please contact administration.
The School Board has endorsed the following contributions for 2024:
The voluntary contribution will be used toward supporting programs in nominated curriculum areas.
Charges for extra cost optional items
These amounts can vary from year level to year level. Students only incur these costs when they are involved in the particular activity. The amounts indicated are the maximum that will be charged for that activity, and it is possible that actual charges for some activities will be less than that which is indicated.
Charges are for optional elements of the curriculum for a class that relate to specific learning activities but are conditional on a payment being made. These include visiting performers, excursions, classroom cooking, camps etc. The charge might also apply to individual or small groups of selected students such as School of Instrumental Music program students, PEAC, school choir members or interschool sports competitors where participation is also conditional on payment. For each year level in the school, the following charges have been identified for 2024:
